knowledge

How we are trying to help with this website

When we first emigrated to Italy in 2014, one of our principal challenges was finding things - you may have noticed that, in general, Italy isn’t big on websites, or on signing shops or businesses particularly well, if at all, and, unless you have local knowledge (which we didn’t have at the start) it can be hard to seek out local businesses and hidden gems alike. As we started to build a life in the local community we also started to discover hidden treasures that, very often, visitors to the area don’t get to find out about or see - we felt that this was a missed opportunity not only for visitors but also for the valley and its occupants. Historically, Pescia has never been a tourist ‘hotspot’, yet the town and the Valleriana valley have lots to offer for the discerning visitor looking to enjoy a quieter part of Tuscany with fewer tourists and a slice of real Italian life. This website aims to help visitors find some of those hidden gems - ranging from local artisans and small businesses to beautiful and interesting places to visit .

For this website to work it is VERY important the people on this site know that you found them

through our site, PLEASE tell them when you arrive!
